How many newborn sleepers should I have?

I've been pretty confused buying baby clothes because everyone says she will grow out of newborn super fast. Dr said she wasn't a big baby so I'm sure newborn size will fit her at first. Right now we have 4 one size gowns and 2 sleepers and probably about 7 onesies. Should I get more sleepers? My mom said she would need more. How long did your newborn stay in NB size?

Ours has mostly been wearing onesies. Sleepers are really hard to change diapers in, so I've avoided them for the most part. I just swaddle her up really well when she's sleeping so she won't be cold. I didn't have a ton of clothing because we didn't know the gender until she was born. I wouldn't buy a ton of nb clothing because they really do grow so quickly!

My dd spent 2 months in nb size, but we didn't buy many nb pieces until she was born and we knew how tiny she was. She was 6lbs 8oz and 18in long.  
Wait until baby is born and if you need a few more nb size things, get them then.

It totally depends on the baby. I had one niece come out and not fit in newborn even on day one and a second spend a month or so in newborn size. Keep the tags on and hopefully you can return them if need be.

I didn't buy anything newborn at all with my first or with this one. It's not like they are going out anywhere, so it doesn't matter if it's little big on them.
