Do you think it's a must for the guy to ask your mom and or dad permission to marry you

To me, there's a difference between asking "permission" and asking for their blessing.

It was very important to me that my husband have my family's blessing before he asked me to marry him. My father passed away just 3 weeks after we met, so he wasn't able to ask him, but my aunt (my dad's sister) and uncle and I have always been very close, so he visited them and my grandmother (dad's mom) and asked them.

It's not a must, but it is nice to do, especially if your SO has been dating you for a while and formed a relationship with your parents. For example, my dad is the most important person in my life and I've told my boyfriend it's important to ask him before proposing. Just a personal decision though.

It's not necessary but it's a sign of respect.  My hubby asked my daddy if he could marry me them proposed on Christmas day.

It depends on your parents. Mine are old fashioned. I told my hubby he had to ask. He said he was going to any way. My parents really appreciated it!

I'm an old fashioned girl when it comes to that kind of stuff. My husband sat with my parents to get their blessings. My dad wouldn't approve until my hubby passed the 20 question test lol. Glad to say he passed with flying colors!

My husband "asked" my parents. We had been together 6.5 years at the time and had lived together for 4 years.  My husband is shy and I know he was so nervous.  However,  he said it was something he wanted to do and I know my parents liked it.

I personally don't think so, but my ex husband didn't ask my father and I know dad was offended and hurt. I'm wondering now what to do, if I marry down the road, if it matters the second time around. Shrug.
