Late period... Please help!!!!!

My period is 6 days late and I started spotting this afternoon. My period has only ever been one day off I've never been this late. I put a pad on because I thought I was starting my period and there was hardly anything on the pad and I haven't bled at all after that. I also took a pregnancy test 2 days ago and it was negative. Any advice? Could I be pregnant?
