A friend of mine lost her husband a few years ago. She has three children that live with her. They are 16, 18 and 22 so not so young. All three of them work, the 16 year old works part time, 18 year old works full time and goes to school part time and 22 year old just graduated and works full time and is paying back her student loan debt. My friend has asked each of her three children to contribute financially as she is struggling and has been struggling since she lost her husband (she was a stay at home mom for years and had just started working when he passed). So, ladies, what do you think of her asking her kids for money? 16 year old makes $600 p/mon and she asks for $100. 18 year old makes $1200 per month and she asks for $250 and 22 year old makes $1400 per month and she asks for $350. I personally think it's great that her kids are helping her but another friend was talking about her saying it's wrong to ever ask your children for money.
