Results of IPS scary

I saw my OBGYN yesterday and was told I had a negative result for down syndrome screening BUT the NT measurement was 3.0 which is high. .6 of a millimeter (3.6mm measurement) more and the government would have covered a second non invasive test that's 99% accurate. Now if I want that test it's $550 which we do not have. They offered to refer me to a genetic counselor. I'm super scared and upset. Wondering if anyone else has experienced something like this. Thankful to be able to reach out to this community for support as I haven't even had a chance to explain this all to the father yet.
