Anyone not feel like a mom?

I feel like my daughter is a niece not a daughter... I feel like I'm missing that special connection...

I kept telling myself that when I got the first glance of recognition I would feel it, then the first smile at me. But 3 and a half months later and still nothing...

Don't get me wrong, I love her to death but just don't feel like she's my daughter...

My hubby said to wait until she says mommy, but if the others haven't made that click idk if anything else will work...

Am I broken?

I didn't feel the connection with my daughter until 6 months whn I could actually play with her and watch her start trying to be more independent it will come I thought I'd feel this overwhelming love for her whn I saw her but I didn't I had to get to know her and now I couldn't amagine life without her and she 15months

It will come with time.  Make time to bond together.  If you are suffering from post partum  I would talk to your doctor. It's common.

Maybe you just haven't gotten over the shock of being a mom yet. It could be that your shocked that your finally getting to be a mom maybe after really wanting to be one at one point, that it just hasn't hit you yet.

I heard that's normal. Have you have any issues with depression after she was born? Sometimes that can cause distant feelings. I would call your obgyn and talk to her/him about it! I'm sure they can help! Good luck!! You're not broken! It's just a hard adjustment period and some people need more time than others.

Maybe ask your doctor or a health visitor or family nurse. I dont know if you get those where you live but i think professional help would be best. It just happens sometimes but I'm sure you will be fine in the end x

Do You have depression? This could definitely be the culprit, so be honest with yourself.

This could be related to ptsd. I'd talk to your doctor. My mom felt the same way towards my sister. It'll get better.
