Mirena Advice

I need some help! My fiancé and I are getting married in a month (12.13.14!!!) and we have decided that the Mirena IUD is our best option for birth control. My doctor said that she will do the procedure only when I'm on my period.

My dilemma is that my next period is 2 weeks before my wedding.

Those of you who have gotten Mirena: Do you suggest getting the IUD 2 weeks before the wedding? Or should I wait for my next period after the wedding?

Any other advice is welcome too! Thanks!
