Dropped baby?

I fell asleep rocking my baby to sleep. She's almost 7 weeks old. I dropped her when I fell asleep. Please don't judge me as I haven't slept much since before I gave birth. She fell on hardwood floor. I picked her up from her crying and she stopped about 1 minute later. No bumps.. no swelling.. no blood. She fell back asleep and I woke her up twice to check on her within the hour and she seems normal. Should I freak out? Has anyone else done this? Is her skull ok from her soft spots? Should we go to ER? From what I read it says not to go unless something is bleeding or broken. Advice?

Fifth baby. Accidents happen. I'm going to sound like the poster bad parent for cps but I've had a baby wiggle out of a swing when they weren't latched, roll off the couch, when they were bigger- tossed up playing and hit their head on the ceiling fan. We are human. Sleep deprivation is a bitch. I'd call if you want to be safe but from experience children are a lot more resilient and unbreakable then we give them credit for.

For you, don't beat yourself up. And don't let the guilt grab you. You are a loving mom. Accidents happen and no one is perfect. You had an accident while providing love and nurturing for your sweet baby. Let your doctor know and move on. ❤️

In solidarity- I accidentally poked my daughter in the ear and my fingernail cut her. I also accidentally pulled her hair while picking her up because she is rocking a badass rat tail mullet.

This is my fear with our nightly feedings so I sit in the middle of the bed now to feed so that if I fall over we land on a mattress lol I know you feel horrible. When baby was two weeks, I accidentally dug my nail into his toe (and they're cut short) when I was getting off the couch. He screamed for a good minute and I wanted to cry with him. He's 8 weeks now and has the scar :( I would definitely take baby in just to ease my mind and make sure he's fine.

I would call the doctor or ER and see what they recommend. Don't beat yourself up. I'm sure everyone has dozed off rocking or feeding their baby and just got lucky that nothing happened! I'm sure your little one will be just fine, but it's better to check in with the doctor. I'm sure they get calls about this sort of thing happening all of the time. Good luck!

You should take your child in to be seen immediately  especially at that age! Also when children fall they tell you to not let them fall asleep to keep them up to monitor if there is any brain injury.

I don't have advice- but I wanted to reassure you, I think every baby gets dropped or rolls off furniture at least once. My baby cried for longer than a minute when I woke up and didn't realize my arm was asleep and accidentally smacked him in the face. Don't feel bad, momma.

I'd take baby in. There may be nothing wrong, but at least for peace of mind. Idk about your PCP policies, but if something like that happened, I could do a walk in and be seen at our normal dr office instead of having to pay for the ER. Urgent care is another option. 
Don't feel too bad. You're definitely not the first parent to have this happen. Not quite the same scenario but same outcome... When my daughter had just learned to roll over (really- she had learned it the day before), I had left her on the bed to go get something that was literally 10 ft away. DH was right next to the bed but didn't realize she was there. She rolled off and hit her head HARD on the laminate flooring. We took her to the ER and she checked out OK, but I felt soooo bad. Stuff happens.

Accidents happen. Just check for a depression or swelling and also check your babies pupils. If they are different sizes or she seems lethargic or sleepy go to the ER. If not, she should be fine. Babies are a lot more resilient than we give them credit for.

I would atleast call her doctor. This happened with my sister and my parents called an ambulance but she ended up being fine. And my parents got a huge bill.

This happened to my sister-in-law. My nephew fell off the changing table when she turned around for second. Just so you know, they took him to the hospital and CPS was called in. It's standard procedure. They have to do so. My brother is a police officer so it was really embarrassing for him. LOL

This actually happened two times with the same kid. I cannot remember what happened the second time around but CPS was called in again. My sister-in-law was so scared they were going to take him away from her. But they didn't.

I would call your pediatrician just to make sure everything is ok. Accidents happen. We are human.
