Pcos question

Question for those of you who suffer from pcos...
Last month was my first month off clomid in the last 6 months (taking a break). I started this cycle off with a very short 2-3 day period, had some pretty bad cramps around cd 13-17 and had to go to doc to make sure all was ok. On cd 17, the doc said she thought I was going to ovulate that day or the next bc there was a nice size follicle on my ovary. That night, I felt the usual sharp stabbing pain and next day that was over. So, I thought, great. That means I ovulated and I will prob get my period around cd 31-32. Awesome.
I am now on cd 40. On cd 36, I went in for lab work to start provera as I thought I didn't ovulate which meant I wasn't gonna get a period.... They found then that my progesterone is a healthy 12.5 (yay! I ovulated all on my lonesome!) So, now, we don't know when I ovulated. Which is super annoying cause now I am using the bathroom frequently since I am worried my period is gonna start. The nurse did guesstimate that I probably ovulated a week prior (so cd 29-30?).
So, my question is, has anyone ever gotten preggers with such a long cycle, is there anyway to better determine when ovulation occurred other than waiting and has this ever happened to anyone else??
TIA... I know this is a long post... Appreciate your input!!
