How often does your child watch tv?

Some people act so shocked when I tell them my daughter only gets to watch tv on Saturdays, holidays.... I've invested a lot of money on books, games, and toys, so I just don't see the point of her watching tv all day....definitely not judging those that do I know it's a great distraction lol

My daughter is 12 and grounded. She has read 3 dork diaries books today. There is also a password on my cable box. She cant even watch Barney without my permission. As a teacher I would like to thank you for investing in books for your child. So many parents don't.

My kids get an hour of video game time a day if their homework and chores are done and they've spent time outside. Friday nights we have movie night together and on Saturday morning they can watch cartoons till their dad and I get up. Other then that they don't get to lounge around the house and veg, they can play or read or go outside. If they choose not to so those things I can always find more chores I need help with!

I am guilty of having the TV on most of the time, but even when it is on my son doesn't pay much attention to it. He does watch it in the morning while he's eating breakfast and getting ready for daycare, and I let him watch a show before bed. But he's way more interested in playing or doing other things, he'll play and then come look at the TV for a minute or two then he's right back to whatever he's doing. I have a bad habit of having to have the TV on for background noise, it helps with my anxiety because it drowns out every little noise I may hear and panic about lol.

My son still plays when the TV is on. He pretty much just likes to listen to it as he's playing with toys. I don't mind.

My daughters is only 1 and not really interested in tv so we just play with her toys, run around, and read books.

My son's only 4 so he watches quite a bit of tv when it's not nice enough to play outside. Plus I'm pregnant and have really bad morning sickness and hip pain so even when it's nice I can't really play with him so I just try to make sure what he watches is educational so he's at least not just rotting away lol it will be different when I'm not so miserable but right now tv is my best friend and I'm not ashamed of that! 😆

My 5 year old gets 1 or 2 hours a day, depending on what he's watching. If it's educational stuff, I'm a little more lenient l.
