iTunes problem?

Has anyone updated or downloaded iTunes and had it screw up your computer? I updated it on mine and when it restarted my windows was screwed up. I installed it on my husbands (not knowing I it was the problem) and his computer kept freezing. Is this just a coincidence or are other people having problems?
