Anyone scared GD will stay after baby?

Anyone else nervous they will continue to have blood sugar issues after baby is born? Hoping this doesn't develop into type 1 or 2 diabetes 😔

It will return to normal after baby. However, you have a higher chance of developing type 2 diabetes later in life. So try to eat well and stay healthy

I was.  I checked my glucose levels when I got home after having my baby.  I'm planning to stay active and eat well going forward to minimize my chances of developing diabetes later in life.

I'm nervous about this as well, but my doctor says that if you are diet controlled you really don't have to worry about it. Your chances increase if you are taking insulin to keep your numbers normal, but even then the chance is low. Try not to stress!

Usually once the placenta is taken out it leaves your body 😊 there is only a very slight chance that you can develop type 2 diabetes
