Induced without being dilated?

Question

How many of you momma's were induced at exactly 40 weeks and weren't dilated? My doc scheduled my induction for this Thursday and I'll be exactly 40 weeks, but I'm not dilated. He said I have a chance of 50% or more of it ending in a c-section so I'm kind of freaking out.

I been induce for all 3 babies..not dilated beforehand..probably gonna have to be induced for this baby too and never any complications or long labors..all about 10 hours of labor n the longest ive pushed was 20 minutes with my first..the last 2..like 3 pushes n they were out..baby number 4 might just fall out lol

Why are you being induced? I would just let it happen naturally unless there's a problem. Doctors are quick to induce

Today was my due date and I got Induced this morning and I was only 1cm dialated. I'm now 15 hours into labor and I'm stuck at 5cm dialated. They say hopefully by the middle of the night tonight. Anyhow, I am miserable and tired and thirsty.

Both of my babies were induced laboratory, neither of which was I dialated beforehand. My first took the longest, but with my second they never had to give me the pitocin because the Cervidil jump started true contractions! They will take care of you, no worries! (:

As long as you and baby are doing okay their is no reason to take the extra risk that comes with induction. Your doc can do NST every few days to check on baby. You will go into labor on your own, babies come when they are ready. Your body is capable of birthing your baby. You hire your provider, you get to make the decisions.

I was induced with my first at 40 weeks and I wasn't dilated. I gave birth the next day vaginally! And I only pushed for a half hour and she was out

I was induced at 40+2 with my son and will be induced again at 37 weeks with this one. I never dialated with my son so I was given a cervicle gel, I can't remember the name right now but it helps dialate if you're not naturally dialating. Labored for about 37 hours no problem and pushed for 3.... I didn't want a Csection nor did my doctor.. But obv if time comes to have one they can be necessary.

I was induced at 40 weeks and 3 days. I was 3 cm so I thought it would be a fast process! Boy was I wrong! 24 hours of labor and vaginal delivery! I am pregnant with baby #2 and will not be induced this time unless it's absolutely medically necessary. Not because my obgyn scared me into it. Good luck to you!
