What did giving birth for the first time feel like?

I am planning to get an epidural, but even if you didn't get one, I still want to know what your experience was like. It would help a lot!!

It's painful no doubt...exhausting, mentally draining, no sleep, and you think you will never make it through...but the moment you hold that little baby...there is no other feeling like it. It's like every Christmas, birthday and any good thing that has ever happened to you times 100. <3

I had an epidural, which sort of worked, but I also had back labor which sucked. Even with the epidural it is REALLY hard work, exhausting with all the pushing. But, totally worth it when it's over and you can hold your baby!!!

Child birth is different for everyone, I personally was in labor for over 42 hours.  My anesthesiologist  was a nightmare  and my epidural became what I remember the most ( not in a good way)  however after that I fell asleep until it was time to push, that took 2 hours and had It took any longer I was told they would have brought in the forceps to assist ( scary thought)  my son was born 10lbs 13 oz.  I had 3rd degree tearing but didn't feel much of it until the epidural wore off while I was getting stitched up.  I had a difficult and painful recovery, but it is worth it and so much more.

It is definitely different for everyone. When my sister had her first she was in the pain you see in the movies during labor screaming included was he'll bent on not getting an epidural got to 7cm the broke her water and she went from a 7 to a 4 and three hours later at 6 finally got an epidural. She was in so much pain that our big strong manly man father was in tears just watching her. I on the other hand when I had my son two years later didn't hardly feel my strongest contractions they literally felt like a distant pinch. I remember my nurse running into my room full blown panic like "we see on the monitor you're having pretty big contractions back to back are you ok" and I was just chilling but out of fear of pain I got the epidural anyway and ended up having a c-section.

was in labor for I believe 20 hours, gave birth at home unexpectedly and it was amazing. for me the pain was bearable, no epidural or etc for me ! <3
