Breastfeeding

Hi there, I'm currently ttc #2 and I want to be able to exclusively breastfeed so bad but it was impossible with my first. I tried for 3 weeks and she just wouldn't latch right, she just wanted to hang on to the end of my nipple so it was awful. I was so fustrated and every feeding ended in my getting mad and crying. I felt like I was blindsided with how hard BF is in the beginning because I was a first time mom. Does anyone have some really good tips for this time around? I feel like I failed my daughter by giving up. I tried pumping and it was a lot easier but my pump was cheap and left sores on my boobs. I'm going to set back some money to get a good pump this time just in case BF doesn't work out again.
