Anemic?

I went to my 36 doc appt yesterday and she ran a bunch of labs because I was pretty swollen and blood pressure came back a little high (compared to my normal). Everything came back normal, except I am a little anemic. She recommended iron supllements but I have to call back and confirm what dose.

Anyone else taking iron / have this issue? How much mg are you taking?

Ferrous Sulfate 325 mg 1-2 times a day. It tends to constipate you, so always good to take a stool softener while you are on it.

Ferrous sulphate 3 times a day.  At first I thought they'd got it wrong because I felt fine so I only rook 1 a day but my midwife says my iron is so low if I don't take them I'll be a high risk delivery...really reared me out so I'm taking 3 a day now. Makes my poop black though

My bloods came back that I was anemic too at 36 weeks and my doctor put me on Ferrous Fumarate 210mg 3 times a day. I've felt much better since and had loads more energy and il be 39 weeks tomorrow. It's actually helped with my constipation too which I wasn't expecting.

I take 27 mg of iron. Just a little pill. It works fine

My Dr. told me to take an iron supplement called Slow FE. It's a slow release iron supplement that's supposed to be easier on the stomach. Haven't had any problems so far with constipation or anything. I did read that antacids can interfere with the absorption of the iron so I take them at opposite times of day if I have to take my Zantac.
