I'm 12 weeks 3days and she couldn't find the heartbeat. She tried for a few minutes and tried to reassure me that the placenta could be in the front blocking it, and that my uerus feels correct in size. She had me get undressed and she put her hand inside me trying to push my uterus up for a better listen. She was pressing so hard with the monitor it hurt like I was bruising! Still no luck.

She said I would need an ultrasound, and then very briefly, we heart the heartbeat and it was gone again! She looked at me and said "Did you hear that?!" I replied, "Yes, did you?!" She said that we both heard it and she was confident in that and quit looking because she didn't want to hurt me anymore. Phew! Think I'm gonna get me my own Doppler now...
