I'm a mom to a special needs child. My son is 7 years old, but has a mind of a 3 or 4 year old. He has to go to a certain school & class for his disability. My son is not yet diagnosed, but is showing signs of autistic, ADHD, & being a lot behind where his mind is suppose to be. Right now, his diagnosis is mild intellectual disability. He will get re-evaluated next year in March (2017).

My son also as behavior problems & is in a behavior class. Just recently my son has been getting suspended due to his behavior such as, attacking people, throwing things, flipping desks over, hitting, spitting, yelling, not wanting to do classwork, & running away.

My son goes to two different classrooms. First class is to help him with his classwork, & second classroom is the behavior class to where all the incident happen. I was told by one of the teachers aid that there is one student that provokes my son. The teachers aid try to keep my son & that student away from each other.

My son is in 1st grade & throughout his 1st grade year he's been to 3 different schools. 1st school was great, but my son had to move to a different school because my husband & I got a new home. Second school was very difficult for my son. On his second day of school he got sent home due to his behavior, then the third day he got suspended & wasn't able to attend. That school did a 30 day emergency IEP meeting. It turned out tha my son was in the wrong school & class. Thats when my son went to school number three. He is still attending that school, but is having outburst.

My son is in a program called Central Valley Regional Center (CVRC) & he's been with them since he was 2. His caseworker is a lot of help because she gives me advice & she attens any kind of meetings for my son. My son also has an assistant lady who comes into my home once a week who helps me wih my sons behavior. She's also a lot of help & also attens mettings for my son.

Right now I'm in a process of a metting with the school psychologist to talk about my sons behavior.

Is there any moms out there who has a special needs child or has delt with this kind of situation? Any advice is helpful......Thank you :)
