My water broke around 11:45 pm on April 21st and me and my MIL went to drop my daughter off at my friend's house (she's 1 1/2). I tried to go without an epidural but my labor was too hard on me and I was begging for an epidural after 4 hours of hard labor. My hubby wasn't able to be there for our son's birth because he is a truck driver and was all the way in California at the time. Around 1:50pm I felt the need to push (like I had to take a big poop; sorry lol). My doctor wasn't at the hospital yet but showed up 20 minutes later and I pushed for about 10 min and my son came out perfect as ever! He did have a knot in his umbilical cord and I'm very grateful he came out healthy! I started to bleed out but my doctor was prepared this time and the nurses were about to prep the surgery room when I stopped bleeding. With my 1st baby, I bled so much, I was white as a ghost and had to have 2 blood transfusions. I am already anemic as it is and losing that much blood, I was close to death. My doctor said I almost died because of the blood loss, but I thank God I am still here today. My doctor was prepared this time with my son, which I am grateful for her as well. I got to do skin to skin with my son, which I wasn't able to do with my daughter because she had to be put on oxygen right after her umbilical cord was cut. My friend got my hubby on Skype and he got to see our son Matthew James Jr., born April 22nd at 2:20 pm, weighing 7lbs, 15oz and 20 1/4 in long! He is now almost 4 weeks old & just as handsome as his daddy! My hubby didn't get to meet him until he was about 3 weeks old & he is also back on the road again until July, but that's the life of a wife of a truck driver! I'm forever blessed 💞
