How to make my new born sleep at night?

My baby is a week old, and he sleeps all day and stays up all night lol I know it's normal and he needs time to ajuste but is there anything I can do to help him? How often should I feed and wake him during the day and night?

I've read when they wake up at night to not play or talk to them and just get them back to sleep and during the day when they wake up talk to them and play with them and eventually they're supposed to know the difference between day and night. Definitely easier said than done. My two week old does the same. The only way to get him back to sleep sometimes is to let him breast feed again until he falls back to sleep.

A week is too little to be starting sleep training. Wait until about a month, when they can see better and have transitioned more.

I started feeding my little one every 2-3 hours and made sure not to go longer than 4 hours at night. Whenever I wake him up to feed and he's not really fully awake, I would strip him down and do skin to skin which works everytime! Also I would change his diaper (usually needs it) after we finish on one breast before we start on the second.

My little one is 6 days old now and I found that it really has helped!

I have alarms on my phone to take my pain meds and that's when I time to feed him or at least wake him up to get ready to feed.

Try and keep him awake during the day more. Make sure the lights are on and the sun shining through the windows. At night have complete darkness.
