Rough cervical exam?! Help pls!

Hi ladies. Today I had my 38 week check up. Dr said I'm only dilated 1.5 cm. He did a VERY rough cervical exam; and left me a pantyliner and told me I would be spotting. I also got checked at 36 and 37 weeks and did not have this. It was very painful!! Do you think he did this on purpose to get things "moving" down there? Any advice pls

He may have been trying to stimulate your cervix or even manually strip the membranes a bit to help get things moving.

I was not dilating at all with my first, but was 100% effaced and contracting regularly. Before being induced and having a folley bulb inserted, the OB on call "got me to" 1/2 cm... Basically my raming her finger up there 😒 I believe it was to help, but it hurt like a b**ch

Omg my ob she a ladies she rough too except i get tense.. i never had a rough doctor doing a cervical exam..
