When somebody gives you a baby gift

I had a woman do this to me! Except it was 4 years later and she threatened to put me in jail for theft 🙄. Luckily in her Facebook messages she specifically said "I know I gave you that crib as a gift, but I'm pregnant now and it better come back to me!" Girl your oops baby isn't my problem when I ceased the relationship back in 2011. No cops ever got in touch with me & she didn't either.

Lol I actually had a friend tell me she would buy me a certain gift if I promised to let her have it if she got pregnant (even if she got pregnant while I still needed it). I said no thanks I'll buy my own shit.

I gave my sister in law a lot of our baby stuff after my first kid grew out of it, and now that we are expecting again, I would never ever even consider asking for those things back. I'm just planning on buying all the things over again, mostly from second hand stores except the car seat. I would gladly take them back if they offered, but wouldn't bring it up. I gave it to them and it's theirs now. I don't get any say in what they do with it, even if they sell it and make money off it, that's not my business. Don't give things to people if you think you can get mad about what they do with it.

My brothers girlfriends used to do this to me and it would drive me crazy, she would try and randomly give me stuff all the time and then be like when you're done I want this back. She literally gave me 2 little pairs of newborn socks and told me she wanted them back. I'm like are you crazy??? My dryer will eat these and I will never find them again, just keep them lol. I quit taking stuff from her because I know I can't keep track of things such as tiny little socks for long enough to be able to return them. She is one of those people that will never forget that you didn't give that pair of tiny socks back and she will remind you of that forever lol.

My friend gave me a ton of clothes.. then my baby used them and she ended up pregnant again.. so I gave them back lol. If you're not using it and the other person can I wouldn't make a big deal of it. I give away all my baby stuff

Was it a family hand me down, meaning everyone uses it at some point?

I sort of did that. I purchased a deluxe pack n play for my brother and his wife when they had their son, two years ago. Now I am pregnant with my first and they no longer use the pack n play so I asked if they could send it back my way instead of selling it. (I gave them some money for a bunch of stuff they were looking to toss out).

It depends what the gift is. Say it was a steralising kit for bottles and your child no longer needed bottles  and you hadn't used it and wasn't going to then I think there's no harm in asking to use it. But if your baby was still having regular bottles and you were using it then i think that's a bit weird
