Told The Truth. Still Not Believed

I told the truth today about a situation at the job I just left. I said some things that I never should have, and I take full responsibility for it. I own up to my actions and I'm working toward forgiving myself. I'm not in trouble and the boss, who is my husband's uncle, respects me for telling the truth. My husband & I talked things out and we're working towards making things better between us, but I've just learned that his grandma and his aunt are demanding that he divorce me. They're going around and telling the family I've stolen $15,000 from the family company, in which I just left. This never happened and I swear to it. They told my husband I took the money and hold it in a secret bank account. Because I "stole this money" the boss is about to lose his home to foreclosure. He is about to lose his house, but it isn't because of me. It's his own problem because he can't afford two mortgages anymore. They also claim his uncle, my former boss, told them this and that if I hand the money back over then he won't press charges and he won't lose his house. My husband believes me that I'm telling the truth, but I'm 100% offended that they're wanting me out of the family for something that didn't happen and for something that's so untrue. My husband says ignore them because they're lying, but I can't. I'm a very confrontational person and they've burned me before and talk shit about me and my sister in law, like we're not good enough for their grandsons/nephews. I am over this and just trying to move on with my new job. What do I even say?! Should I ignore them, or confront them? Any advice helps. Thanks.
EDIT** - I told the truth about leaving work early multiple times without permission, as well as not doing some of my job duties. Petty crap but I knew it was wrong. They're saying I stole money because they like to start shit and create drama. There was a small amount of money, like $60, that a co-worker of mine admitted to taking from petty cash. My uncle didn't tell them who did it so they assumed it was me because they're drama starters. When my uncle told them he owed $15,000 in back taxes on his home, they somehow concocted that I stole that money so he was going to lose his house. Again, our family doesn't know how or why they come up with these things other than they have too much time on their hands.
