Stripping of the membranes

I had an Ob appt today and my Dr said he will strip my cervical membranes in a week. I'm 36 weeks 5 days and measuring at 35 weeks 5 days. This means that in a week I'll be 37 weeks 5 days, but what if my due date is wrong and I end up having a premie baby. Have you guys had this done this early? And does it hurt?
