I'm on depot birth control shot does is work well?

I just goty first depot shot two weeks ago and I need to know if it's really effective.

If you're asking about preventing pregnancy, I can't say it doesn't handle that...

But I also gained 50 lbs and hated having sex... So, no, I can't say that it works because the side effects weren't worth the lack of pregnancy. I'd rather just stick to condoms.

I hated it.  I gained weight and had severe migraines. And it's not something you can just stop taking like pills or remove like an  iud. Once you take the shot it's in your system for a year! i wish i did More research on it. I was young and didn't think about what would it be like if it didn't react well with my body.  Of course everyone is different so it cOuld work for  some and not for others. Hard to say but i would suggest going another route and sEeing if something else works that a  won't be a one year trial time like the depo shot

I have been on it for two months now--so far just some weight gain--but other than that I have no idea gotten pregnant while on the shot

I am one of the lucky ones that it works well for I didn't have a period at all till 2 weeks before my shot  for 2-3 days .... It didn't take long to leave my system either.... When I am off of it it takes me around 3 months to become normal again.

I had the shot. It worked and I had no periods. How ever coming off it, I had no period 6 months after stopping it, had to take a pill to restart. And it made my extremely mean. It effects everyone differently. Put I personally feel the safest thing to take is pills

I bleed 3 straight months. I was done after one shot. Same with my friend.
