Water slowly leaking?

I've heard a few people mention lately about water slowly leaking (rather than breaking).. has anyone heard of or had this? How would you know if it is happening?!

I was told to lie down for 30 minutes and stand up quickly and if you feel a leak when you get up, it's probably water.
I've also been told to wear a panty liner and smell it to see if it smells like urine, if not, it may be water.

Your water breaking isn't how it is portrayed in films, you know where there's a single gush of liquid. That's a fallacy. It's more like a leaky faucet. It's likely you will leak fluid all the way to the hospital until your labor escalates.

A nurse Watery discharge can also just be your normal discharge with sweat if you are hot at night or really hot during the day. She said summer moms have a hard time distinguishing between amniotic fluid and normal discharge but that amniotic fluid  has a unique sweet smell.

I have watery discharge at night while I walk to the bathroom. I think my bladder is just overflowing 😉 It doesn't smell tho?! Should I be worried? I think during the day it's only when I'm rushing to the bathroom. So I really try to be "on time" if this makes sense...

With my second I woke up from a nap and whent to "pee" after I felt I was done I was still  "peeing" after a little while I was like um.. What's going on here??... 
First was induced so I had no idea how it felt when water broke on its own.. I figured it wasn't stopping so I just went in.. But it's not like a gush of water, like they show in movies or at least that wasn't my experience.

When my water broke  this is what happened. I knew it was more than my usual discharge so I went in and they checked it, sure enough it was my water!

This happened to a friend. She sat on the toilet and listened for dripping. It worked perfect for her. She was in fact leaking fluid
