Stealing the spotlight?

Hey all,
I need to get this off my chest....
My husband and I were trying to get pregnant for 6 months to get pregnant before it actually happened and we are BEYOND excited for our 2nd baby.

My husbands brother and his girlfriend had supposedly been trying also (but kept it a secret) and got pregnant 2 months before us with their first child. Now, after they found out we are also pregnant they pretending like they were so happy for us and how our babies will be so close yada yada yada...

We're finding out that they are going around town telling people how we "stole their spotlight" because they were TTC before us...?

Now, anytime we talk about our baby, it's like we're doing something wrong?
He went as far as to NOT EVEN INVITE his own brother to their gender reveal party...

I'm beyond shocked. I've NEVER heard of this...
Any suggestions? Thanks all

By the way... I'm not gonna stop being excited about baby number 2 just to spare his punk brothers feelings...

If that's true, they sound incredibly immature. Any reasonable person they complain to is going to think they're idiots. I'd just ignore it.

Lol let them get over themselves.  I'm convinced my boyfriends cousin (they're more like brothers) thinks we are stealing their spotlight even though their baby is 18 months old and is the youngest of three.  They haven't spoken to us much since we announced and they never congratulated me at all.  I don't even want to invite them to the baby shower but I know my MIL will and I'm not trying to cause any drama.  Some people just can't stand losing the center of attention and that's their problem.  Don't let it bring you down!

That's stupid. I think it's ridiculous when people feel that way, pregnancy isn't about having attention or a spotlight. It's about family.... And they should be stoked for you guys. When I was pregnant with my daughter my sister got pregnant too. I was thrilled! She wanted to keep it quiet until after my baby shower but I started telling people at my shower that she had a cousin on the way too, I knew my sister was just trying to be polite and not "steal my thunder" but to me it was exciting and nothing to hide, plus she was showing! And all the "immediate" family members knew... Now our daughters are totally in love with eachother and call eachother sisters. I love it! Hopefully they get over it soon because they are cheating their child out of their very first best friend.
