Do you like your mother in law?

My mother in law dose not talk to me or even try to start a conversation when I try to talk it's short word responses I don't know why ..

I really do love my mother in law. She is so sweet and means well. However, sometimes she says the dumbest stuff. She doesn't think before she talks. She usually doesn't realize she has said something that was offensive until after the fact. Then she explains that's not what she meant at all. Lol it took me a while to learn how to deal with it and now I know better than to get upset over the little things.

Sometimes yes and sometimes no, my MIL can be toxic or she can be your best friend, but watch out if you piss her off and she'll try to destroy you, I'm so glad they live 200 miles away

I can't stand my MIL when she is in our lives she constantly tries to cause conflict between my husband and i. She doesn't even try to be a real grandma to my kids. She treats them so much more different then she does the rest of her grandkids just because their half mine. We haven't talked to her in 2 years because she crossed way to many lines with my husband and I but last week she reached out to my husband and told him how much she has changed and misses ALL of us.  She told him how much she loves me and miss me and the kids. I have no idea how to feel because she has done so much damage over the last almost 10 years of my marriage that I don't know how to get past it. Even my husband doesn't know what to do. I support him in whatever he decides but it's still hard for me to think she is sincere and its not trick so she can see our newest baby on the way. Ugh wish I could figure out what to do.

Not really. She abandon my SO when he was about 2 1/2 - 3 years old because she 'just didn't want to be a mom anymore'. I mean, she's nice and all, but I can't forgive someone for walking out on 3 kids under 5. Not that I expected her to, but she didn't even meet out daughter until she was 7 1/2 months old (she only lived 30 minutes away from us), and doesn't even text/call to see how she or my SO is. I never met his 2nd step-mom, and his 3rd step-mom I don't mind, she's really nice.

It may sound petty to some, but I come from a really tight knit family so it really bothers me when family screws over and abandons each other.

My boyfriends mother is an extremely intimidating person. And I'm a ball of anxiety so I'm always shaking and ish when she talks to me. But she's nice and funny and I really do love her

Ugh we get on i guess but she's an alcoholic and don't really have much personal hygiene. She's also a bit crazy. She was sectioned in a hospital due to it and has lost her short term memory due to it. Think she's also lost a few brain cells. I feel bad because I don't like her to hold my children when she really smells or if I believe she's had something to drink.

I'm not a fan, she's been rude since she found out we were dating. We've been together almost 11 years now, thank goodness she is now in another country!
