Overly Rude Hair Dresser

Kristel
Alright. I just want to get this out.
My husband went to the "barber" to get his hair cut by the same wonderful gentleman he usually does and there is an older woman of Asian decent (I say her nationality because it is often hard to understand her and it will come into play later) who works in there that I hear constantly making remarks to other people that aren't necessarily the kindest.
Today she was cutting this older gentlemans hair and commenting that his mother (who was with him) has nicer hair and since he was balding it was obviously a sore issue for him. Once he asked her to stop embarrassing him she turned on me.
The lonely pregnant woman waiting for her husband to get a haircut.
"Boy or girl?"
I didn't think she was speaking to me and I simply continued to scroll through my phone waiting.
"Hello? I say boy or girl?" She tuts and  continues to cut this mans hair. He looks at her and asks if she's talking to him.
"No, I say to her boy or girl but she no answer. With the face in her phone."
Finally I realize it must be me and I said "I'm sorry, I didn't hear you. It's a little girl."
She rolls her eyes and says "no, look like boy."
At this point I'm not in the mood to defend my pregnancy to a stranger but I nod and say "well, it looks like a belly to me."
She drops her clippers and stares at me. "Boy. Look like boy so is boy. You see. Disappointed when not girl."
I'm not sure who peed in this woman's Cheerios but I didn't not appreciate her attitude one bit.
I figured this late in the pregnancy game I would just continue to get the "oh! Congrats when are you due?!"
That I can handle.
Since when did it become alright to force feed your opinions on people and make someone else uncomfortable?
