Do you think it's a big deal to use a baby name that you picked out from a different relationship for your current baby?

Basically long story short. I was in a relationship and ended up pregnant. When picking out names I fell in love with this girls name and have been stuck on it since.. 4 year later married and have a baby on the way now. Is it really wrong to use the same name of this baby is a girl? Husband knows I always wanted to name a girl this and he has said nothing on the matter and loves it ! Father of my son is still around, should I even care if he feels some type of way about it ? He has a child on the way also.

I think it depends on the circumstances of the name. I picked up a name for my son when I was 19, long before I ever thought of having children. I did tell the name to my fiancé, though we never ended up having any children before we broke up. If he happened to name his son from a new relationship that name I can promise you I would be very upset. That name is my name!If your ex told you the name with, "I've always wanted to name my child after my childhood hero," and you fell madly in love with it. Then I think it would be wrong to use the name.

If you two were just researching names together and stumbled upon this great name then I say it's fair game. Worse case he might name his child on the way the same thing.

Call the baby the name you love who cares what your ex thinks so long as you and hubby are happy.

And just because you love that name it doesn't link to your ex, just like loving your son doesn't mean you must still feel for your ex x x
