New age parenting?

Question

I'm seeing a lot of parents starting to raise their kid without being gender specific. What I mean by that is parents dressing their baby boys in girl clothing and vice versa. They also allow their sons to play with girly dress up clothes and Barbie dolls and things of that nature. I've also seen parents buying their little girls boy clothing or toys, which is a little more accepted by society. Are you going to raise your kids like this or what are your views?

That's what they're calling "new age parenting"? Personal opinion, that's super ridiculous.. Like I can understand if the kid is like 10 and up, and wants to wear other gender clothing and do different things AS A CHOICE, but to not specify their gender as a baby? That's not the baby's choice.. That's the parents being to soft about what genitalia their kid has because the government is enforcing gender identity bathrooms in schools K-12. Like, let your kid be who they want, but really? Dressing a baby boy in a dress as a newborn ? A 1 yr old? Good lord I can't handle people today haha. This is getting out of hand.

I'm gonna dress my son in boys clothes until he's old enough to pick his own things. If he wants girl toys then fine but I'm not gonna get them if he doesn't ask.

I will be dressing my daughter in girls clothing and if I have a son, in boys clothing. I don't care what toys they play with.

Well my son will be wearing boys clothing and if I had a girl she would be in girls clothing, but as far as toys, it would be whichever they wanted. Girls get to play with tonka trucks all the time and nobody bats an eye, but you see a boy with a doll and all hell breaks loose. It's pathetic.

Hey, to each his own. I mean, the kids can't really dress themselve or have any real opinions until they're like 8, so what's the harm, right? I really don't understand the "gender specific" thing, but whatever makes people happy is good enough for me. I'm dressing my boys in whatever I think they would look adorable in. Mainly dinosaurs and sports cause dinosaurs are awesome and my boyfriend likes football lol

I think personally I'll dress my daughter in cute dresses and stuff and my son up in cute boys outfits. Not that I think there's anything wrong with gender neutral or transgender or anything of that nature but I'll let them decide. If she comes out a girl, I will treat her like a girl until/unless she decides otherwise. But I'm not going to push the opposite on her. She will grow up in a world that is becoming so open to these things that she will be able to see and understand and choose for herself and I will accept that.

They can play with whatever they want. But....if their a boy then I'm dressing them like a boy and vice versa 😂😂 honestly I think that's kind of weird not to, your kids should be able to choose their sexuality on their own without lowkey being pushed into it

I am pregnant with boy/girl twins. We are not going to impose heteronormative gender roles on our children but that does not include putting our boy in dresses, it means dressing them both in gender neutral clothes. They both will get dolls and trucks and are being given gender neutral names.
