when do u know its reflux and not spit up!?

Question

So all babies spit up, right!? so what marks reflux and what is just normal!? i dont want to jump the gun and have dr place baby on meds if it is just regular spit up, or if changing my diet (ebf, somight  need to cut out diary) can make a difference. She seems to spit up some times not at all feedings, mostly when she does is due to not being fully burped, and it comes out like cottage cheese like. Also there seems to be no dismcomfort when ahe does spit up, the one thing that does let me belive it can d reflux is that she does the face of something yucky like ahe ahe has swallowed when just laying down flat on her back... What are dead give aways of reflux!? Did any of u have something elae and my symtpoms!? Helllllppppppp

My son has it he's 9 months now , it's not just spit up it comes with a bad cough and my son will cough in his sleep and start crying from the acid sometimes , some nights he coughs so bad we have to sleep sitting up he is on meds and similac alimentum and most days he's fine but some nights are my worse nightmare , you baby may seem irritated or randomly in pain , not wanting to be on their stomach and things like that , hope it helps

It sounds like some wet burps but to be sure, talk to your PCM if you're concerned. My baby has silent reflux which she's outgrown and did great without medication. For the first few months I had to burp her after every ounce, keep her upright for at least 30 minutes after feeding, and had her sleep on a wedge so she wasn't flat on her back. She doesn't have issues anymore at 3 months and rarely has wet burps.

My son does a funny face also right before he spits up and when he lays down flat. That is one sign of reflux. Think about if you get heart burn or have reflux what face would you make. It's painful and I had reflux through my pregnancy with him so I became very aware of the nasty face I made. Mostly if you lay the baby down too soon after feeding the baby makes the faces starts to get fussy then projectile vomits it is most likely acid reflux and you don't have to put baby on meds. Add rice to his formula it made a world of difference for my son. You can actually get formula with rice already in it specifically made for babies with reflux
