School, and where I study?

I'm a bit confused. So at a university people can sit anywhere they want correct? See theres a bldg thats for the professors offices and in the 3rd floor of this bldg theres a random round table where I enjoy sitting. There is no traffic, it is very quiet. I find it better than the library. I have been sitting here since summer school. But it seems the professors always have a problem with me sitting here. Like some of them have asked me why do I sit there or if im waiting for one of the professors. And no im not, also this is a bldg for the math professors office and im a nursing major. Idk am I going against the norm here or should I just stay im lovable spot haha. Sorry this is random, I just needed to ask and vent. Cause I feel like I should move but dont want to. Its so comfy!
