Induction without epidural?

Question

Has anyone been induced and did not get an epidural? I'm just trying to start thinking about if i end up being induced. I really do not want an epidural. Hoping for some positive feedback from you ladies 🙏

I was induced w/ my first (with the foley bulb and Max doses of pitocin) and didn't have an epidural. You can do this!

I was SET on not having an epidural.  I got induced around 10:30am with pill the 19th (1cm dilated when i came in) water broke at 2cm walked, walked, did everything i could to dilate more.. eventually i asked for things to be up in my IV to speed up the process around 1am i was stuck at 5cm for hours on end:( i was so tired and couldn't stand the pain i got an epidural an hour or so later (its really not that bad. No where near how people say the neddle feels) Helped ALOT! I could actually enjoy my labor. After that it was good! I didnt have her until 2:51pm so i had to get more of the epidural stuff put in my back bc it wore off. Having her hurt some what not as bad as i thought it was going to be just ALOT of pressure Im really happy i got one in the end (:

I'm 41 /1 today? I haven't had any consistent contractions yet either. I'm unsure of my pain threshold hold but I'm being induced tonight and I really wanted the least interventions so I don't plan on an epidural. Any good staff will support you in your endeavors

So glad you posted this! 39 weeks and no change. My plan this whole pregnancy is to get no epidural but now I'm worried about being induced!

I was induced with my first. Wasnt planning on it my water broke and nothing happened. I dont want to scare you but the pain was unbearable. I was crying for an epidural. This time around im planning on going all natural. Pitocin makes contractions alot more intense so im hoping i can get through it. Good luck

I was induced with pitocin and no epidural.  It wasn't my choice to not have an epidural, but I made it! I'm being induced on wednesday this time and praying I'm able to have an epidural this time.  BUT I know it's possible without, so I'm trying not to stress!

My friend was induced with pitocin, had a 9 hour labor, and was still able to have a "natural" (pain med free) birth. She used hypnobirthing techniques to manage the pain.

I was induced by foley balloon and did not have an epidural. I was in labor for 28 hours. My advice is to move around as much as possible!

I was pretty set on not having an epidural and I wasn't planning on being induced. I went into labor on my own but the doctor told me since I wasn't progressing he was going to send me home. Well, I wasn't having that! So he agreed to induce me with only pitocin.. I made it 4 hours into contractions.. Only dilated 2 cm and I was miserable. I decided I'd get the epidural and I'm glad I did bc it sent me from a 4 to a 10 in 45 mins! It actually only numbed my right side (which was fine bc any help from the pain was just fine) so I felt like I sort of got to experience what natural labor felt like! Wouldn't have done it different at all! Just go with the flow and see how things go and I think you'll be happy! :) good luck!
