So, I'm due to stop taking my pill tomorrow to have my period. I know it takes a couple of days for my period to come, so it could be Thursday or Friday, and my birthday is the following Tuesday. Do I risk being on for my 18th birthday, when my boyfriend has booked a fancy hotel, or do I wait a week?

If it was me I'd just skip the period this time. But if you've never done it before it might cause some spotting

Just skip your period altogether this month. Go straight from your last active pill to a new pack and have your period when the new pack is over.
