Opinions please! Would/did you wait to cut the umbilical cord or cut it immediately after birth?

I've read waiting has A LOT of health benefits for the baby. Anybody else heard this?

As long as everything is ok, we're going to wait at least a minute.
Even my husband said that there's obviously no harm in waiting, so if there's a chance that it can be good, then we will wait.

Wait for the cord to stop pulsating. There's a lot of blood left in the cord that can go into the baby if you wait to cut. Definitely wait.

We plan to wait until the pulsations stop, unless there is an emergency where the cord needs to be cut immediately (like being wrapped around the baby's neck, or in the case of an infected placenta). As long as everything is normal at birth there really are no risks (and some good benefits) in waiting a few minutes to cut the cord.

We cut it right away because the cord was wrapped around the baby's neck twice and he pooped inside of me so they had to take him to make sure he was OK.
