I'm not allowed to feel self conscious because I'm pregnant
As a woman who has always had body image issues, I've found these first few weeks of pregnancy difficult. I'm 14 weeks, and have gained some weight. I'm at the awkward stage where people can't tell if I'm just gaining weight or if I'm pregnant. I have received a few comments from people that have really hurt my feelings. "Wow, you've never looked so heavy!" "You look huge!", etc, etc.
Every time I've tried to confide in anyone, I get the same response. "Well, you are pregnant!" Yes, thank you, I'm aware of that. However, why do people think that me being pregnant is a free pass to comment on my obviously increasing weight?
Is anyone else having a hard time dealing with this?
