Period irregularities on BC

I started BC at the beginning of March to help regulate my hormones and lighten my extreamly heavy flow. I have started my period today after finishing my last one 7 days ago. When I started, the gyno said that I may be irregular, but this is my third period in about 5 weeks. I have a checkup at the end of June. Is this normal for starting BC, or should I get to the Gyno before June?
