How long will I bleed?

I'm getting a D&C tomorrow... 
How long will I bleed afterward?
And how long until I should expect my next period?

It's been a week since mine and I'm bleeding very heavily and passing huge clots. Doctor says it's normal but it's still scary. I hope you don't have to deal with this it's very uncomfortable. Everyone is completely different though. Some women don't bleed at all. Sending my thoughts and prayers your way, good luck 💖

So sorry for your loss. I had my d&e last Friday. I bleed lightly for two days, heavier with some clots for 3 days and then light spotting for 3 days. The last two days i haven't had anything except a little brown on the toilet paper when i wipe so I think I might be done bleeding. 
When will your period come back? It's different for everyone. My doctor said anywhere from 3-8 weeks. She said if it hasn't returned in 8 weeks then I need to be checked out.

I started having intense contractions then with blood clots the day before my scheduled D&C. It pain lasted for hours. I still needed to have the procedure. Right after I had craming and bleeding but was given the prescription and the cramps ended that day. I bleed for about 5 with some spotting afterwards. I have my follow up tomorrow.

Everyone is different. I barely bled the first day and then just lightly for the next two days. The next week when I returned to work (12 hours of standing, lifting patients) I bled quite heavily. I then spotted brown for nearly 3 weeks but turned out the dissolvable stitches (they knocked my cervix) hadn't dissolved. I was able to pull them out easily myself and the spotting stopped very soon after. Got my first period about 7 weeks after surgery. So sorry for your loss and I hope you have a smooth recovery.
