Chores?
Ok so, I live with my mom and step dad and we have his 6 and 11 year old daughters every three days (they come to us for three shad then go to their mom for three days).
I do online school so I'm home all day so I'm expected to clean the house, do my own laundry, etc. Which is fine.. my reason for posting this is to ask what is an appropriate age to start expecting children to clean?
I do any dirty dishes during the day and my mom usually does them at night, I'm expected to clean up the mess they make around the house the next day, and my mom cleans their bedroom.
I don't want to say anything to my mom because they will think I'm complaining about having to clean and my step dads older daughter (who's my age) says they shouldn't be expected to clean because she was and she resented her parents because of it.
I'm sorry this is so long, I'm just trying to tell all the details.
My point is, it's not crazy of me to expect a 6 and 11 year old to clean up after herself and clean her room and the 11 year old can wash dishes, right?
