I absolutely DO NOT agree with smoking weed while pregnant! Think about the baby before puffing chemicals into your body!

I think its selfish and i don't think its okay to smoke while pregnant only for the simple fact that the thc passes thru the placenta  (which could mean your baby is getting high too?). In some states you can get in big trouble if.your baby has thc in their system, and you may get them taken away from you. No thorough studies have been done to test the effects of thc on developing babies in utero (what mother to be in their right mind would even allow such testing?)while i agree that some pepole do worse while pregnant,  still doesn't make it right. No dr will ever tell you that it's ok to smoke anything while pregnant. Smoking cigarettes will cause low birth weight, asthma, and an array of other problems not to mention you never know what the marijuana is treated with depending on how its grown, and who knows if marijuana does the same thing as cigarettes or maybe even worse. When you're pregnant it's not about you anymore, you're responsible for a life growing inside you and its your duty to make sure that baby has a great chance to have perfect health. Please think about your babys health and consider quitting if this is regarding yourself. If i can quit cold turkey i believe anybody can.

In Massachusetts if they find drugs in your system when pregnant CPS will get involved.  You will have home checks.  It's really not worth it.  They automatically check when the baby is born if there is any in your system

Cannabis is a category c drug , which means risk cannot be ruled out. So why risk it, it's only 9 months.

While I haven't smoked it in years, cannabis has many positive effects. There are methods of ingestion that are safer than smoking if you are pregnant. The process of burning it, and the inhaled smoke is something you might want to avoid. Especially since there are so many other ways to ingest the product. Pills, tinctures, food, etc. I won't smoke it when I conceive but I know the particular methods and types that will help for the areas I am seeking relief. Much better than any pharmaceutical.

I think anything with inconclusive research on if its harmful or not, I'd go without. It could be harmful and there's just not enough research about it.

Unless there is great gain to come from something that could be harmful (i.e. Medical reasons for prescribed things) I wouldn't risk it.

That's coming from someone that's taking medication that have been shown iffy with pregnancy, but the results of my condition are even more iffy for pregnancy (including stillborth, late miscarriage, and defects if a flare would take place)

Marijuana use during pregnancy is associated with changes in the amygdala, which regulates emotional behaviour. It's possible this indicates that in-utero exposure of compounds in marijuana can *possibly* cause impairment of emotional regulation.
There's numerous studies who report that children exposed to marijuana smoke in-utero are more likely to display anxiety and depression symptoms later in life.
There's a few other side effects that have been linked to it as well. It's more or less what you are taking and when you take it and how much during pregnancy causes what. Therefore, not everyone will get the same result.
The only reason we don't know the outcomes for certain is because we can't do a controlled trial without ethics getting in the way.
So while I do support recreational and medical marijuana, I would say it's not worth the risk of the possible outcomes for your child to be exposing your fetus to it.

I would normally say yes but with the new laws about pregnant mothers testing positive i wouldn't....i smoked it with my first two pregnancies and both came out happy and healthy scoring a 9 out of 10 on the Apgar scale....they are now 11 and almost 9 and still very healthy and smart as can be...i couldn't be more proud of them
