Baby wearing! Wrap vs. Sling?

Question

I would like to add some infant carriers to my registry. I've really looked into wraps like the Moby, but also the ring slings. They both seem to have there pros and cons. Ultimately I'm looking for something I can use while my baby is newborn and then can continue to wear until a sturdier device will be needed. I'm just seeking some advice on what people's preferences are. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I tried the Maya Wrap which is a ring sling. I thought it wouldn't feel sturdy enough but it's super snug and best of all super easy to use! I was set on the Moby until I tried the ring sling. (Though I've only tried the Maya, I feel all ring slings would be very similarly easy and supportive). It's just the easiest thing I've found!  Lille Baby carriers are also great if you want a more structured carrier. These also are able to be used from day one with baby in fetal position.

Look up an infantino mei tai. They're cheap and can be found at target or Walmart but are comparable to more expensive carriers!

I bought a baby k'tan. It's so easy to put on. I haven't had my baby yet so I can't review very well. We also got a Lillebaby complete airflow. I like that it has lumbar support and baby can be worn 6 different ways in it. You also don't have to buy an infant insert because baby fits from birth.

I have a ring sling and a Moby wrap. My LO loves both, but they definitely each have their pros and cons. Ring sling is easier to get on and off, but it does eventually make your back hurt since it goes across one shoulder. It also doesn't make you 100% hands free. I still feel like I have to support his head if I lean or bend over. The Moby takes a little longer to put on, but baby is totally supported! If his head is tucked in I can completely bend over and he doesn't move. It's also way easier on my back, especially if I am wearing him longer. So for me it depends on what I'm doing and how long I need to wear him. I love both!

Is anyone else afraid of the baby wraps? My friend gave me one when I told her we were expecting again and she never used hers for her son. I'm afraid because they look unsafe compared to the carriers with the back straps but I think they look cool.

I liked my Boba wrap but had a fall baby. I feel like the fabric would be very hot in the summer. 
I would recommend getting in touch with your local baby wearing chapter, they meet once a month and have a lending library, so you could try a few different things before purchasing.
