This is lengthy & confusing but bare with me. I have a childhood friend, kasey, who just had her second child with a man she is not with. She has no emotional connection to the child, & her mom suggested adoption. My fiancé & I are ttc, but we are willing to step in as adoptive parents. Kasey has been arrested multiple times for meth use. I only know all of this because my mother is still friends with her mother. We aren't friends because of the drug use. Has anyone adopted a child in this circumstance?? Or (what I understand) had an independent adoption?
