To host my own baby shower or not to?

So my question is what you all think about hosting your own baby shower? Our circumstance is that we are expecting our 5th and because we really thought we were done with 4, we had a garage sale and sold all our baby clothes, receiving blankets, burp cloths, etc. The only two things that didn't sell was the infant carrier and bouncer 👍🏻 we just purchased a baby swing. Tho we can buy what we need a little bit at a time, things are tight and family does know what situation we are in. And here's the other thing; my niece is now expecting in October so my hubs fam are going to be throwing her one (totally understandable) so should we just go ahead and host our own or forgo and get things as we can on our own? Just wondering others take on it.
