What to expect with Cervidil?

I'm starting it tonight at 8, what should I expect? Can I eat? Can I get up and walk around? Help!

As far as eating I think it depends on the hospital. Where I'm delivering you can't eat or get up the first two hours it's in but after that you can eat up until you are 6cm dialated or get the epidural.

I was aloud to have pudding, ice cream, etc. until midnight then just ice with mine. The cervidil actually put me into labor and I didn't end up needing pitocin until I was pushing. I definitely didn't get any sleep during the night it was in because of the contractions being so strong. I had a long labor. 28 hours with 4 of that pushing. He was my first though and he was 9lbs7oz so that probably has a lot to do with the time. I definitely couldn't have done it without an epidural that long. I had wanted to try but back labor is no joke lol. anyways, good luck! Hope you have a smooth, easy labor!

I was only allowed to have water and ice chips when I started cervadil. It wasn't painful when they inserted it and it mainly thinned me out and little bitty contractions gradually started happening for me. Pitocin was what really got the big contractions happening.

Being induced tonight with cervidil as well. The nurse told me we can bring snacks.

My doc just told me I should eat before I come in. I won't be able to eat once they start the cervidil.
