How to get 3 month old to sleep in crib???

So my son sleeps in our bed every night in between us in his Boppy pillow. Every time we try to put him in the crib he screams and cries. We let him cry it out one night for almost an hour straight when I went to go finally check on him he was sweating so much. I felt so bad. He will also sleep in his swing for a long time but I feel like a bad parent if I leave him in it for hours. I haven't had my bed to myself since he was born. What can I do??? (When I mean he hates his crib I mean the second he goes in he throws and huge fit)

Try is slowly. We just finished transisioning my 4 month old from his bassinet to his crib. I started about 3 weeks ago having him nap in his crib once a day. Even though I knew it would be s super short nap I kept doing it every day until that nap was a good length. I also put him down when he is falling asleep. I'll rock him or nurse him till he starts to close his eyes then set him down. After we got naps down I started at night. I would put him to sleep in his bassinet in my room and for his 4am feeding I would put him down into his crib to sleep the rest of the night. Did that for a few days. Then started earlier. Like if he woke up at 1am he would be put into his crib and wake up in his crib the next time. Last night was the first night I put him to sleep in his crib at 8pm and it worked perfectly. Woke up to nurse once then back to sleep!

I definitely agree with Brandie. Start slowly. Start with naps and then move onto moving him into is crib at night. It also might help by playing with him in his own room and having a good nighttime routine in his room as well. It will help him associate that it's a safe and relaxing place. With my LO we would rock and sing to her before placing her in her crib. She would whine and eventually scream but we checked on her every 5 min by reassuring her or placing her binky back in. Over the course of a week she became much easier putting down and she now sleeps her crib for every nap as well as at nighttime. She still fusses sometimes but a few extra cuddles and singing her songs seems to calm her down. Best of luck to you!!

At 3 months old, your baby may not be ready to sleep in the crib. You are at the end of the fourth trimester. Baby still needs lots of comforting. She is too young to cry it out because she doesn't have the ability to self soothe yet. Sleeping in the swing is okay if it reclines pretty far back. It's actually a good way to slowly transition to the crib. Try swaddling and white noise also. Here is a link about sleep from 3-6 months.
