Why??

Right now. Currently almost done my period, why why why why why do I have an awful smell from...you know. Down there. Please help😩 I just realized it yesterday and don't know what it's from. It can't be sexually transmitted because I don't have sex on my period. So can someone please give me some insight on why I have this terrible smell...

That happens to me almost every time. I've narrowed it down to a chemical imbalance in the vagina because of all of the extra hormones and stuff going on down there. I use a pH balancing feminine wash and it goes away in a day or two.

Are you cleaning your vaginal area properly? Like with warm water and preferably a feminine wash? I would recommend that.

Often times bacteria grows on tampons and pads and gives us an overgrowth of bacteria in that area. A bacteria byproduct is a bad smell. Try a menstural cup, washing more carefully, using wet wipes when you go to the bathroom, or changing pads more often.
