Menstrual cups?

I would like to start using them, but Idek much about them. Where do I get them? How to they work? How reusable are they? I have endometriosis, do they make my period more painful? Any recommendations? Any help would be great!!!!

InStead or Softcup are NOTHING like the reusable kind. They are too big and too hard to use.

There are several brands of cup, look them up to see what one is better for you.

They are reusable for abt three years! (So cheap per period)

They are cleaner because they do not trap bacteria on their surface like a pad/tampon. Plus, they don't dry up your vagina or strip out your good bacteria, like a tampon.

You only have to change them about every six hours, or even longer.

They are non-carcinogenic, unlike non organic tampons.

They reduce waste

They are basically unfeelable once you put it in. Not even like a tampon, more imperceptible than that. I forget-i mean I actually forget- that I'm on my period. Except the cramps of course.

Absolutely love my Blossom cup. No smell, no gross dry tampon feeling, no leaky pads or tampons, no extra cramps, no changing every two hours or period-stained panties. I love it. First day, you'll learn a lot about putting it in right. After that, you'll love it.

I got the Bella cup online at Amazon, $12 I think. There is a bit of a learning curve. I watched YouTube videos, cuz I wasn't understanding the directions. Now? I'm a pro, and I love it!

I still wear pantiliners on my heavy days, but that's because when I put it in, on bad days I think there's still some on the vaginal walls I don't get when I wipe. But nighttime? Insanely fabulous! I'm one who used to have to lay down an old towel and I'd wake up to blood somewhere. Now? Nothing!

The cup does discolor, but I clean it with water, hydrogen peroxide mix every month. The only issue is if you haven't started yet and put it in, it can be a bit painful cuz there's no blood to lubricate things.

Depending on where you are you can get them at cvs or target maybe walmart otherwise online where i am i could only get the diva cup in stores -which is not a good cup if you have a low sitting cervix as the cup is a bit larger then a lot of others. It works by suctioning inside you to the walls then collects all that tries to come out since its suctioned it wont leak (it may leak if its over full though im not sure) the box says to replace it every year although you can easily reuse them for longer -they get stained and turn a yellowish color but there are ways to clean them. I personally have noticed my period has become way better since switching it went from 5-6 days (heavy the first 3 light the last 2-3) to 2 days of a medium to light bleeding and 1 day of spotting. My cramps have also gone down. I barely notice im on my period to be honest. I change it about every 8-12 hours although i easily could go longer as my cup is only ever half full when i empty it thinking im overflowing the thing lol I recommend checking out precious stars pads on youtube she compares the different cups to help you figure out which cup you want to get based on what your like down there. She also gives basically all the information you could need on the cups. Also she gives many tips and pointers on inserting, removing, storing, cleaning, and buying the correct cup. Probably more as well lol shes all around amazing and truly helpful!

I got mine at cvs and I got the diva cup. I love it! It can be really gross but I think it's worth it to not constantly be worrying when I should and can change my tampon. My periods haven't been any worse since I've switched but they have been a little longer.
