Is fighting in a relationship normal?

How many times would be considered to be normal?

Arguing= Productive
Fighting= Destructive

My SO and I have never had a "fight", but we argue effectively when necessary. Fighting like saying mean things, belittling one another, physical or emotional pain is NOT healthy and will hurt your relationship. Arguing is good because you can have a reasonable conversation by listening to one another in order to ultimately solve the conflict together! Every couple has their own "normal" me and my husband rarely fight, my sister and her husband always fight. I don't think our relationships any better everyone just reacts different to situations. I am usually pretty passive and avoid conflict, my sister is the polar opposite. Whatever works for you as a couple is fine.

We bicker about little things, but if I got in a fight that lasted more than five minutes even once a week I wouldn't be in a relationship like that

We bicker maybe twice a month...in the whole 2 years together we've only seriously fought maybe 5 times.

I guess it depends. Fighting and bickering are different. I think fights are more serious and if you're getting into serious fights weekly or daily, there might be a problem.
