Miscarriage?

Hi. I've been taking birth control to control my abnormal periods for 6 years. Since i started taking it, it has been completely regulated. (Since I was taking it for that reason and not to avoid pregnancy, I wasn't religious about taking it at the same time every night). Anyway, the last two periods I had were abnormally heavy for me and had major clots.. It seemed like most of the blood was clots. And then this month I had a very heavy period and then a really heavy one 5 days later lasting for 9 days.. I'm in a relationship where we have unprotected sex a lot (plz don't lecture me) but I'm also in college and party a lot.. Could I have miscarriaged without knowing I was pregnant? Does anyone have this similar experience ?
